The Huberfeld Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem is Israel’s largest and most advanced NICU. Each year, over 22,000 babies are born at Shaare Zedek—which is 60 new babies brought into the world each day—and approximately 5% of those babies are in need of more intensive medical care that only the NICU can provide. This outstanding number of births is greater than any other hospital in the Western world. The NICU cares for more than 1,000 high-risk infants each year, the facility is designed to meet the highest medical standards in an ultra-modern environment.

 Shaare Zedek’s NICU is an advanced centre dedicated solely to the care of women and children. This unique facility is the first of its kind in Jerusalem, serving everyone regardless of race, religion, or political view.
